A fundraising event to benefit the Equestrian Aid Foundation
The first Clothes for a Cause event took place on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Wellington International. In addition to avoiding the worst of the thunderstorms that afternoon, the team raised almost $1000 for the Equestrian Aid Foundation!
Watch this space for announcements of future Clothes for a Cause events and opportunities for involvement in Wellington, Ocala, and additional locations TBA for summer 2025. And, if you are able to do so, please donate to the Equestrian Aid Foundation, an exceptional organization that provides financial help to members of the equestrian community who face catastrophic events and circumstances in their lives.

As with any new effort, we owe a debt of gratitude to so many. Thank you to Barbara Closter and Mimi Maddock for coming up with the idea and spearheading this first event. Donate Your Gently Used* Riding Apparel
Clean out your closet by donating your almost new and gently used* riding apparel! Drop off your donations from Monday through Thursday between 9 am and 5 pm at Signature Academics, 12300 South Shore Blvd., Suite 90, Wellington. There is a bin to receive donations in the reception area.

Shop Fellow Equestrians' Gently Used Riding Apparel
Keep an eye on social media and right here for upcomingClothes for a Cause events where you’ll be able to add to your riding wardrobe by shopping fellow equestrians’ nearly new and gently used riding apparel. All proceeds - 100%!!! - go directly to the Equestrian Aid Foundation!

Volunteer!
Help us sort and tag donated clothes, set up and staff events (additional locations to be announced soon!), and clean up afterward. Bring friends! Your time can count towards required community service hours, too!

About the Equestrian Aid Foundation, our beneficiary
The Equestrian Aid Foundation provides emergency financial grants to members of the equestrian community throughout the United States who are struggling to overcome catastrophic illness, injury, or other unforeseen crisis. Since 1996, the Equestrian Aid Foundation has provided over $4.1 million in grant support and the promise of hope to breeders, farriers, grooms, riders, trainers, amateurs and other members of the equestrian community who are facing life-altering or life-threatening crises and need assistance with basic living or rehabilitative expenses.
*Clothes for a Cause will accept donations of women’s, men’s, and children’s riding clothes only, including show and schooling tops, breeches, jackets, and shadbellies that are clean and in good repair. Donated items must have all buttons, working zippers, and intact seams and cannot be stained or faded. At this time, we are not able to accept any other categories of equestrian apparel. Thank you!
